I prefer a bright house because I love the sun and I need light, otherwise I am in a bad mood.
I want a small house because I don't want to make home repairs or do housework - I am very lazy!
In the kitchen, I desire a refigerator, a stove, an oven, and a sink because I like to cook. But, I don't want a dishwasher because I wash the dishes with my hands.
I want a library because i like reading books. I need a bookcase for my books, a lamp for my eyes, and an armchair with a coffee table so I am able to read.
I am lazy and I rarely straighten up or vacuum... my carpets are very dirty and messy.
Above all, I want a practical and comfortable house. Ancient or mordern, I want a house where I am able to sleep and eat without worrying myself.
My friends want a big house because they adore stairs.
My mom wants a small garden for her flowers. She adores them and she walks there every morning and night!
I've decided to force myself to learn how to cook vegetables, since I am a little bit sick of frozen green giant, broccoli, and corn. And I'm going to write down what I do with each one as well as my thoughts so I don't forget!
The first veggie is... squash! I talked to some people at school for advice on how to cook it, and here is what I ended up doing.
1 Squash, sliced.
1/2 of it:
Sprayed Pam Olive Oil, light pepper, then into the frying pan and i think sauteed? on medium high for a few minutes with the lid... DELICIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The other 1/2:
Sprayed Pam Olive Oil, sprinkled bread crumbs, then into the oven at 350 (i dont know if thats the temp im supposed to use, but i figured it was a good number) for about 10 min..... DELICIOUS as well!
Over all, the frying pan ones were a tad burnt which gave it that extra taste i love! Both were good, and I am super proud of myself for cooking a squash :)
next on my list: eggplant, then asparagus and shallots!
I'm gonna be the master of veggie cooking soon enough!
Récemment, j'ai l'obession avec la langue francaise! J'adore la langue, la culture, et le prof aussi! C'est trés agréable et j'ai envie d'étudier plus et plus!
Yet another phase in life where I obsess thoroughly over a topic! I am still into cakes and cookies (les sucres!) but I don't have any time right now to bake thanks to school (1 more month...! Then a month of geology...! Then a month of ITALY and FRANCE...! Then a month of good old arlington...! Then school starts up again).
My latest obsession has been French books, of course! Most of them have been bilingual texts/readers/grammar books that I've dug up at Half Price Books, but there is a gem that I saw at Rizollis in New York (that's a whole 'nother post...)
Je vous présente:
C'est BEAU! C'est BEAU! Et c'est MON livre! I (did not support my local bookstore, sadly - thats another post and discussion as well) bought this off of amazon, and j'adore j'adore j'adore! A more in depth review and comments coming up later as soon as I have time to sit down with it and stare! Basic recap: it is a book of the most beautiful photos, diagrams, and recipes of desserts! Mmmm!
I just realized I hadn't posted any of my work from art school, so gradually I will be adding them. This piece is titled "Childhood Reading."
This piece is actually in a (planned) set of 3 that deals with my relationships with books throughout various moments in my life. This piece represents my earliest memories - picture books with singsong rhymes.
Materials: Copper sheet, copper foil, embroidery thread.
I stumbled upon a lovely wedding favor site: Bella Regalo
Gorgeous stuff.
Some of my favorites:
I love the different styles for dresses - now I'm all inspired to crack open a wedding magazine and cookify the gowns!
I really have an unhealthy relationship with cute pastries at the moment - phase or true passion in life? Only time will tell.
The right 2 are from Sprinkle Sprinkle and the Chinese New Year ones on the left are from here.
It's so true. After three days of binging, all I can say is ugh. I feel terrible. :( Back on track now!
